Fanciful Treasures is an expression of a partnership that has gone on for well over forty years.  David and Sandra didn’t share this aspect of their partnership until health issues forced Sandra to retire and boredom forced her to look for ways to fill hours that had always been just too busy for hobbies. While waiting to take a stained glass class she thought would be a possible answer for her boredom, she found first fused glass and then wire wrap.  She never did get to stained glass, but that is just fine.

Once Sandra became fully involved in wire wrap, her husband, David, in his typically supportive fashion, took a cabbing class so that he could supply the kind of material Sandra favored: designer cabochons of semi-precious material containing patterns or pictures such as Botswana Agate, Dendritic Agate, Crazy Lace Agate, Plume Agate, Amber, Ocean Jasper, Rainforest Jasper, Picture Jasper, Labradorite, Larimar, Fossils, Tiger Eye, Tiger Iron, Rhodochrosite. As can be seen from the cabochons on this site, David has a wonderful way of finding, and highlighting, the best parts of each stone and maximizing its beauty.

Please note: Sandra works in Sterling Silver, Argentium Silver, Gold-Filled or Rolled Gold, and, occasionally, Copper wire. She does not work in silver tone wire, gold tone wire, memory wire, craft wire, base metal or plated material. With the exception of stoneware pieces made by David, fused glass, pearls, or beads, she does not use any “created” or synthetic materials. The patterns in the stones are natural, not painted. Any faceted gemstone, such as tourmaline, sapphire, garnet, aquamarine, citrine, amethyst, quartz, in one of our pieces is natural. Therefore, every piece truly is One Of A Kind.

In addition to the pieces you see here and on our
Etsy site, David and Sandra would be happy to work with you to create a piece that is not only One Of A Kind, but has been made Just For You.

The Bottom Line: David and Sandra have spent the last couple of years attending lapidary schools and developing the skills to create our custom, handmade jewelry.  The beneficiary of that partnership is You.
